Exploring the Digital Future

What are the effects of ongoing digitalization on our society, our economy, and our law and legislation? Held in 2014, the sixth edition of the “Thinking of Germany” conference revolved around the theme of “Exploring the Digital Future” and commemorated the 25th anniversary of the death of Alfred Herrhausen.

For the creative interpretation of the “Digital Future” TRIAD Berlin drew inspiration from images such as immateriality, systematics, change, data streams, and cables. Using a complex system of braced cables a spatial installation was created that illustrated the digital perception of data and data structures. The twisted lines in the room caused visitors to look up – a symbolic way of inviting them to discuss the digital future and to acknowledge the complexity of this topic.

Once a year, the Alfred Herrhausen Society and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung discuss the state of affairs in our country and try to determine which themes are important for the future. Among the prestigious keynote speakers in 2014 were  Anshu Jain, Co-CEO of Deutsche Bank, Holger Steltzner, editor of the F.A.Z., and Thomas de Maizière, Federal Minister of the Interior.
