Thinking of Germany 2011

Who Rules Germany?

  • Alfred Herrhausen Gesellschaft
  • Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.)
  • Location:
  • Hermann Josef Abs Saal, Frankfurt
  • Year:
  • 2011

The key question "Who Rules Germany? – Taxation without Representation" triggered a debate on the legitimacy of decisions and on alternatives to the "no alternatives"-mantra in times of hectic powerlessness. Triad Berlin transformed the conference location into an atmospheric space that allowed for focused thinking.

As in 2010, artists produced "visual recordings" that captured key aspects of the discussions, and parts of the conference were broadcasted by media partner Deutschlandradio Kultur. Among the speakers were Josef Ackermann, Peter Gauweiler, and Hans Leyendecker.
