Discoveries 2010

The Island of Discoveries

In the 2014 Year of Science, Mainau Island hosted "Discoveries 2010", an exhibition on the subject of energy. Triad Berlin contributed three pavilions to the event.

On behalf of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings, Triad Berlin developed and produced an introductory pavilion that allowed visitors to experience and learn how to responsibly handle natural resources. The central exhibit of the pavilion offered a fascinating demonstration of how nature can be used as model for the development and implementation of energy-efficient solutions.

The second pavilion presented science as a vocation as well as initiatives by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research supporting young scientists. Along with matter-of-fact information, the pavilion also showcased several intriguing and amusing collages that invited visitors to discover the subject of energy from a different angle. An exciting energy rally for children marked a highlight of the pavilion.

TRIAD Berlin’s third contribution was a pavilion for Telekom Innovation Laboratories (T-Labs): The "House of Change" presented T-Labs's innovative and visionary research approaches and trendsetting projects in the fields of energy efficiency and natural resources conservation.

Visitor numbers showed that the three pavilions managed to communicate complex subjects to both adults and children in a simple way and to create enthusiasm for science. In the following year, TRIAD Berlin returned to Mainau Island and developed further pavilions for the 2011 Year of Science.
