“Sky Chapel” and “Plug&Play”

Triad Berlin contrasted the classical exterior of the Bertelsmann’s Berlin representative office with two media and audiovisual installations named "Sky Chapel" and "Plug&Play" on the interior. Triad Berlin strived to link and contrast tradition and innovation, print products and digital content.

Sky Chapel

The installation consists of a digital ceiling fresco and is the virtual centre of the dynamic room design. In an interplay between space and the visitor, the installation takes up the themes of imagination and innovation, creating different atmospheres according to the situation. The Sky Chapel uses poetic images to tell of mankind’s dreams and visions, of creativity and resourcefulness. It poses the question of how new things come into the world. The two-fold opening of the room through the conservatory and the LED projection creates a smooth transition between reality and fiction.

Plug&Play

The media installation Plug&Play welcomes the visitors and introduces them to the great variety of Bertelsmann’s media world. Orange coloured lines of light replicate the orange stripe of the company logo and turn it into a symbol for Bertelsmann’s worldwide stream of ideas and energies. The creation and production of books, films, songs and programmes is portrayed in an alternation of calmness and dynamism, rhythm and monitor movement.
