Brand Display Window for KarstadtQuelle AG

The expansive installation in the entrance area of the modernized company headquarters served as a sign for KarstadtQuelle’s new direction. To present the changing brand, Triad Berlin developed an innovative brand display window, which worked as an interactive portfolio creating an emotional experience of the new company culture for employees and business partners alike. Triad Berlin devised the brand display window as the core of the modernization and new design of the company’s headquarters.

*In May 2007, KarstadtQuelle AG rebranded itself Arcandor AG.

Media Production and Interface

The so-called scanner is the central media area of the brand display window. Monitors present the group’s four strategy sectors: competencies, people, visions and networks. The control desk contains a haptic interface for the visitors to choose a topic. Depending on their choice, the cubes associated with that topic will emerge mechanically from the brand display window’s blue illuminated glass wall and show films offering the visitor varied insights into the group.

Design of Exhibits

The aim of the design was to translate KarstadtQuelle group’s new emphasis on quality into overall experience. Hence, the brand shop window’s design follows the clear and functional language of the architecture of the entire entrance area. High quality materials such as glass, nut wood and stainless steel combined with the technical precision of the construction’s details produce a dignified atmosphere.
