IBA meets IBA
Triad Berlin did a production of the centennial history of international construction exhibitions (IBA) in Hamburg, thus placing the Hamburg IBA into its historical context. Apart from the scenography, Triad also designed the exhibition’s graphics, lighting and technology as well as planning and organising the transportable exhibition. The presentation of the IBA Hamburg’s city development project, founded in 2006, in a former supermarket in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg was a high-publicity event.
Theme rooms
Eight theme rooms show an institution which has been setting the standards for German construction culture and architectural history again and again. The palette of great architectural interventions extends from the Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt and the Weissenhof estate in Stuttgart to the two Berlin IBAs in the ‘50s and ‘80s to the presence. Current IBAs – the IBAs in Fürst Pückler, Lausitz and in Hamburg, as well as urban renewal in Saxony-Anhalt – bear testimony to the great contemporary and explosive force of the IBA’s core subjects.
Next Stop Basle
The exhibition, which previously had been shown with great success in Hamburg, was to promote the idea of a trinational construction exhibition in Basle in 2020 for the duration of three weeks. Triad adjusted the exhibition’s ground plans and technical equipment to the tri-national new location, a former market hall.
