MINI at the International Automobile Salon

Following the successful presentation at the 2007 IAA, Triad Berlin realised several interactive exhibits for imparting MINI’s product substance and technology information in Geneva, as well. The highly complex subjects were condensed for the context of the trade fair to show the essence of each technology, so that the visitors’ interaction would lead to a thorough understanding. The highlights included the experiential exhibit “Go Karting. Drive MINI” as well as the MINIMALISM exhibits with their special listening experiences.

Experiential Exhibit „Go Karting. Drive MINI“

The 3D environs of this interactive exhibit were developed especially for the premiere of the new John Cooper Works brand. Apart from the agility of John Cooper Works, driving pleasure and the GoKart feeling, typical of MINI, were conveyed in a realistic manner. Visitors were able to play a fast driving game, navigating their way through several scenes via a wireless steering wheel, which was freely manoeuvrable in the room. A motion platform supported the driving experience across sophisticated race tracks and urban sceneries as well as through a multi-storey car park.

MINIMALISM Exhibits

MINI’s interactive exhibits calling attention to CO2 reducing technologies also made visitors spend a lot of time at the exhibition stand. The visitors had a choice of 240 short stories to listen to via pushbuttons and sliders. Each story highlighting one of the four different MINI technologies for reducing CO2 emissions. Entertaining animations accompanied the listening experience and tempted the visitor to keep combining different time slots and topics.

Exhibit Demonstrating the Combined USB/Bluetooth Interface

Like at the 2007 IAA, yet another interactive exhibit presented the MINI USB/Bluetooth combined interface. Four highlight display cabinets showcased two music and telephone applications each: a mobile phone, a USB stick, an iPhone and an iPod. With the preceding controls console, visitors were able to dial up their preferred appliance. The selected display cabinet was set off by individual lighting, and the visitors obtained information regarding the respective connection options in their MINI.
