125 years of Karstadt

On the occasion of Karstadt’s 125th anniversary, Triad Berlin developed a management conference with the central theme of “Treading New Paths” for the KarstadtQuelle executive managers, including a subsequent evening event. More than 550 invited guests attended anniversary night at KaDeWe, Europe’s largest department store. The evening’s host was KarstadtQuelle AG’s chairman of the board, Dr. Thomas Middelhoff.

*In May 2007 KarstadtQuelle AG rebranded itself Arcandor AG.

Management conference

At the axica congress and conference centre on Pariser Platz, 150 executives of the group’s management held a debate with the title “competence for tomorrow” in a room which had been designed by Triad Berlin by using the principle of an arena in order to encourage a dialogue between participants and to create a stimulating conference atmosphere. The event was emotionally charged by an opening trailer that took the participants on a journey into KarstadtQuelle AG’s future. Music by the band Culcha Candela provided the right energy.

Evening event

For the production of the VIP event, Triad Berlin turned the KaDeWe’s atrium into a large show stage. The motto “treading new paths” was choreographed by Triad as a fashion show with models and dancers of the Berlin State Ballet, whose performances created impressive moments beyond the usual catwalk productions. Four newcomers of the international fashion world, casted by Triad, presented their collections on new paths under the headline of “Next in Line”.

Light and room installations

Lifestyle and fashion were brought to life as “living shop windows”,  a giant living doll and a large-scale LED installation above the KaDeWe’s entrance welcomed guests. Seemingly flowing forms in the atrium served as surfaces for changing lights and projections. The fashion show’s choreography was staged on two illuminated catwalks, which descended like two halves of a bridge at the beginning of the show, providing an effective presentation area for the designer fashion.
