German Customs Museum – Special Exhibition “Customs at Sea”

In cooperation with the German Customs Museum, Triad Berlin devised a special exhibition about the subject of Customs at Sea. The design of the exhibition included motifs of the sea and navigation and embedded the exhibits in topical productions. Apart from a short historical overview, the exhibition’s visitors were able to take a look at the tasks of customs at sea today, such as fishery inspection, detecting seawater pollution and control of import bans.

Exhibits

Interactive exhibits in the thematic productions made exhibition’s contents accessible to visitors. Thus, visitors were able to check the mesh sizes of fishing nets and discover smuggling hideouts in a ship’s cabin. Various media stations told thrilling stories about the everyday life of customs officers at sea who had been interviewed in preparation for the exhibition.
