The Dream of Vision – The Era of Televisions

Triad Berlin perfected its “Dream of Vision” in 1997, and more than half a million visitors came to see it. Triad initiated, designed and organized this exhibition about the age of television, in addition to carrying out all the fundraising for its dream to come true. The exhibition, about the intertwined history of culture, everyday life, and technology, included some 300 original props and exhibits - becoming Germany’s second most successful exhibition in the year 1997. Due to its overwhelming success, it reopened in 1998. The “Dream of Vision” was the birth of Triad Berlin.

Subjects

The exhibition’s contents were divided into the following subjects: “Television as cultural history: changing visual perception”, “The history of technologies: from Galilei’s telescope to the internet” and “Media art: from Nam June Paik to Dara Birnbaum”. With the “The Dream of Vision”, Triad Berlin showed how classic exhibition patterns and provocative, ironic and media forms of narrative can complement each other perfectly, whilst appealing to a broad audience.
