24h Berlin – One Day in Life

As a founding partner of the unique project 24h Berlin, Triad Berlin designed and maintained the official website, devised the online strategy and campaign, organized events - both public and VIP, and acquired sponsors and partners. On behalf of all partners, Triad Berlin invited media representatives and leaders from business as well as arts and culture backgrounds to the first public presentation of 24h Berlin. At this event, held on RADIALSYSTEM V’s sun deck, the website was launched and the online campaign kicked off. Mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, emphasized the international appeal of the unique TV program. The event was presented by the famous radio hosts Robert Skuppin and Volker Wieprecht (radioeins) and received national media coverage.

Triad Berlin produces opening event

On behalf of all partners, Triad Berlin invited representatives of the press and disseminators from the economic and cultural sectors to the first public presentation of 24h Berlin and the simultaneous launch of its website, held at RADIALSYSTEM V’s sun deck on 6 June 2008. Following the welcoming speech by the mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, the individual cooperating partners explained the major project to some 300 guests. The event was presented by Robert Skuppin and Volker Wieprecht (radioeins) and was given national media coverage.

Website

The central communication aim of the bilingual internet presence www.24hberlin.tv is to alert Berlin residents and non-residents for 15 months to the project, providing up-to-date information and specific appeals. From the start, interactiveness and participation have been core parts of the internet platform. Thus, all Berlin residents and lovers were called upon to shoot their own Berlin video on 5 September 2008 and to upload it to the website. The users could evaluate all uploaded videos. Moreover, each contribution had the chance to be selected for and included in the 24-hour television programme.

24h Berlin Campaign for the Day of Shooting

Triad Berlin used a total of six motifs to design a campaign featuring the slogan "Berlin dreht durch! Dreh mit!" Some 50,000 postcards, 1,500 posters and 10,000 info booklets were distributed around the IFA, the world’s leading trade fair for Consumer Electronics, with the aim to invite all Berlin residents and Berlin lovers to shoot their own Berlin video on 5 September 2008. The rbb television channel, the six rbb radio stations and numerous other media also broadcast the motto.

24h Berlin Salon

On 10 November 2008, Triad Berlin extended invitations for the first 24h Berlin Salon on behalf of all partners. Sponsors, members of the advisory board, doers and friends of 24h Berlin met at Münzsalon to talk about future activities. The event focussed on finding ideas surrounding broadcasting day as well as the extension of the website to include new interactive content modules and the development of numerous screening events on 5 September 2009.

Events on broadcasting day

In order to gain a maximum of attention, Triad Berlin will offensively the broadcast on 5 September 2009 in the city. On 5 September 2009, Berlin is supposed to look at its own life for a day, and everyone can take part: in Berlin, but also in the entire transmission area of rbb, ARTE or YLE Teema. 24h Berlin has the potential to create an atmosphere similar to the exceptional mood surrounding the football world championship. In addition to varied private and institutional initiatives, which can be communicated via the website, several large-scale events are being developed.
