WINDSTÄRKEN (Empowering Wind)

On a floor space of 1,050 sq m, the special exhibition WINDSTÄRKEN presents a wide array of topics relating to wind in an entertaining, surprising, and captivating fashion – from wind’s impact on nature, art, and culture to wind power as a technology of the future. Numerous exhibits and hands-on elements offer astonishing insight into the world of wind. For instance, visitors can measure the “felt air temperature” familiar from weather reports or draft their own wind power station. Apart from developing the format of the exhibition and its graphic design, Triad Berlin was also in charge of planning the architecture and the media installations of an exhibition that puts a strong emphasis on immediate experience.

WINDSTÄRKEN:
From october 26th 2011 to february 28th 2013.

Exhibition design

The free-form elements in the first section of the exhibition invite visitors to venture on a journey through cultural and social history. In the second section, installations with a technological outlook visualize the contemporary aspects of wind energy. The tension between the two sections is underlined by carefully conceived sightlines. Graphic elements in a fresh yellow tone interconnect the different sections and highlight surprising information conveyed in a typography that has such a wide range that it perfectly echoes the qualities of wind.
