SmileAngel Children´s Hospital

Cooperating with a variety of hospitals, the Chinese SmileAngel Foundation, has organized more than 8,036 free-of-charge surgeries for children born with a cleft lip and palate whose parents are not able to afford the operation. Initiator of the foundation is famous Chinese singer and actress Faye Wong and her husband Yapeng Li. In 2010 the Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs includes SmileAngel Foundation among the 20 most influential charity projects in China.

At the moment SmileAngel Foudation realizes its first Children’s Hospital in Beijing. Using an existing building which will also serve as the foundation’s headquarter, Triad plans and designs the special non-medical areas of the hospital, e.g. playing sections, children’s rooms and foyers as well as the façade of the children’s hospital. Thus a house suited for children will be created where the floor space of 1,500 square meters provides space for colorful kids’ corners and rest areas as well as a VIP area for sponsors. The design of the lobbies and of the kids’ areas will represent a creative assimilation of children’s perceptions by playing with forms and colors, thus rendering a distinctive and representative architecture for the SmileAngel Foundation.
