A transparent and spherical landscape extends over the foyer of the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation in Berlin. On the occasion of the opening of the world exposition in Shanghai, Triad Berlin conceived and realized the small branch exhibition “Better City, Better Life”, dedicated to the processes of sustainable urbanization. The exhibition presents a selection of themes that are highlighted in the main theme pavilion of the Expo 2010 in Shanghai: the “Urban Planet”. The theme pavilion was designed by the German company Triad and addresses both the complex processes shaping the urbanization of our planet and global challenges that go along with it. The small branch display expresses the ambivalent character of cities and informs about how urban landscapes can contribute to climate protection. In cooperation with the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation, the Triad team planned and organized an additional press-event. The keynote speakers showcased the complexity of urban development in the age of climate change with the examples of China and Germany. Panalists included Alexander Lohausen from KSP, Jürgen Engel Architekten GmbH, Dr. Malte Selugga from Selugga&Selugga Architektur GmbH and Ms Franziska Eichstädt-Bohlig, spokeswoman for Urban Development at the Berlin City Parliament, at the podium. Ralf Fücks, director of the Heinrich- Böll-Foundation, moderated the debate.
