Triad on the Island of Discoveries 2010

On May 22, Federal Minister of Education and Research Prof. Dr. Annette Schavan festively opened the exhibition “Discoveries 2010” on the island of Mainau. This year, the subject of the exhibition was energy. Triad Berlin contributed three pavilions to the exhibition.

Introductory Pavilion

On behalf of the “Foundation Lindau Nobelprizewinners Meetings at Lake Constance, Triad Berlin developed and realised an introductory pavilion in which visitors can experience and learn how to responsibly handle natural resources. The central exhibit of the pavilion presents fascinating examples from nature, which demonstrate ways to save energy and intelligent uses of technology. Moreover, a three-dimensional model represents the ecological footprint of the world, visualising our consumption of natural resources.

Federal Ministry for Education and Research

The second pavilion presents science as a vocational field as well as initiatives by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research supporting young scientists. The pavilion provides fundamental information but also invites visitors to experience the subject of energy from a different perspective with several intriguing and amusing collages. This pavilion is also the starting point of an exciting energy rally in which visitors can discover different stations of the exhibition and win many attractive prizes.

House of Change

Triad’s third contribution is a pavilion for Deutsche Telekom Laboratories. The “House of Change” presents original and visionary research approaches and trendsetting projects of Deutsche Telekom Laboratories in regard to energy efficiency and the conservation of natural resources. Visitors can approve or object by participating in an interactive voting system. The “trend barometer” visually and acoustically represents the results and presents a daily overview of the projects’ level of acceptance among visitors.
