Countdown for the 24h Berlin Online Video Contest

Berlin, 23 February 2009 On 5 September 2008, 80 professional film teams shot the TV show 24h Berlin. Moreover, many Berliners and tourists followed the call to participate, “Berlin is in! Are you?” and uploaded their self-made video diaries on www.24hberlin.tv. The result is impressive: 80 different diaries about 5 September were uploaded. The 24h Berlin team has now opened an online competition for the best videos. The public and a professsional jury will both award prizes. The countdown will end on 12 March 2009. Jury Award for best Berlin video shot on 5 September 2008 A professional jury will select the best three films out of all the videos that were recorded in Berlin during the day of the 24h Berlin shot and that were uploaded on the website. Members of the jury will be Dieter Kosslick (Berlin International Film Festival), Volker Heise (zero one film), Dr. Claudia Nothelle (TV director at rbb Television), Dr. Hans Hege (mabb), and Robert Eysoldt (Triad Berlin). Big public vote online Furthermore, every video will have yet another chance to win. In addition to the Jury Award, the videos that will have received the most online votes will also win a prize. Users can vote for their favorite video on www.24hberlin.tv until 12 March 2009. Among the prizes to be won will be tickets for an open air concert organized by radioBerlin 88.8 on 27 June 2009, tickets for shows at the GRIPS theatre and at the Radialsystem, tickets for the recording of the next Kurt Krömer Show for rbb Television, and various non-cash prizes by ARTE. Moreover, every Berlin video that was shot on 5 September 2009 has the chance of becoming part of the 24-hour TV project, which will be broadcast on rbb Television and ARTE on 5 September 2009. Media Authority Berlin-Brandenburg supports 24h Berlin The interactive module on www.24berlin.tv has been made possible by the support of the Media Authority Berlin-Brandenburg (maab), partner of 24h Berlin. For mabb, 24h Berlin furthers the engagement with TV as a medium, using new broadcasting technologies. 24h Berlin is a project by zero one film, Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb) and ARTE, supported by the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and Triad Berlin.
