The Expo of superlatives comes to a close. Over 8 million people visited the “Urban Planet”.

China did it. Shanghai Expo 2010 was with 70 million visitors the biggest world exhibition of all times. The Expo of superlatives, which was open from May 1 to October 31, 2010 surpassed the 1970 world exhibition of Osaka, which previously was the most visited world exhibition. As a visitor magnet of the first hour, our "Urban Planet" with more than eight million visitors, was one of the most successful pavilions. Every 9th Expo visitor went on the visual and acoustic journey through the unique theme world.
The record visitor number of eight million people in six months even surpassed the half year numbers of world known museums and attractions such as the Louvre in Paris (4,25 Mio.) the British Museum (3 Mio.) or the Taj Mahal (1,2 Mio) in Agra. A huge team from Germany and China has worked over three years to make this project a reality. It was worth the effort! It was great!
